OverviewOur facility is a designated critical access hospital dedicated to providing quality healthcare services to residents in Crawford, Franklin, and Washington counties. We have enhanced our healthcare offerings with a state-of-the-art emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, multi-room surgical suite, expanded cardiac rehabilitation services, and a cancer center. Our 22,500 square-foot medical office building accommodates primary care physicians and visiting specialists from the St. Louis area.
We operate four rural health clinics to ensure quality healthcare for surrounding communities, along with a comprehensive Therapy and Rehabilitation department and an award-winning Wound Care Center featuring two hyperbaric chambers. Our Sullivan medical clinic is a well-established, multi-disciplinary physician group providing family, internal, and OB care.
Role PurposeThe physician will deliver professional medical services within their specialty through direct patient care and will allocate additional time as needed for related duties, including completing medical records, providing MyChart consultations, managing in-basket communications, conducting patient-specific education, and collaborating with advanced practice providers and care team members.
Responsibilities- Oversee the medical care of a patient panel by providing or arranging for inpatient hospital care, either through regular hospital rounds or by coordinating with hospitalists or other qualified physicians.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and care team members to ensure optimal patient care outcomes at designated clinic locations and any other BJC clinical outreach sites as needed.
- Perform and document medical histories and physical examinations in accordance with hospital medical staff bylaws.
- Provide or arrange for call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient care in compliance with BJC policies and Medical Staff bylaws.
- Collaborate with and mentor advanced practice providers, support staff, or any care team members involved in the care of the physician's patient panel.
- This position is classified as safety-sensitive, requiring the ability to maintain constant alertness and operate safely.
- Education: Doctorate in Medicine.
- Experience: No supervisory experience required.
- Licenses & Certifications: Board Eligible or Board Certified in the practicing specialty; Licensed Physician.
- Experience: 2-5 years in the field.
