Hours of Work: Hours of Work: The typical schedule is Monday – Friday – 8:00am - 5:00 pm but early mornings, evenings and weekends are required based on departmental needs and scheduling.

The Director of Athletics is responsible for the planning, operation and administration of the LCCC Athletics programs.
The Director of Athletics is responsible for managing and developing an NJCAA, NJCAA-E and NIRA collegiate athletic program that includes men’s/women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s/women’s basketball, rodeo, and Esports. This role involves overseeing administrative, marketing, and fundraising efforts to support these programs. Additionally, the Director is responsible for ensuring the four Pillars of Excellence are upheld: student athletes academic success, competitive success, campus relations, and community relationships; as well as the identified strategic priorities established in the LCCC Athletics Strategic Plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: – this position is exempt and is not eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. Collegiate Athletics- Drives athletic excellence and compliance by leading staff development through targeted training, supportive supervision, and resource alignment - ensuring coaches are equipped to prepare athletes for competition.
Oversee athletic scheduling, staffing, and game day operations
Develop and monitor budgets and scholarships in collaboration with Financial Aid and LCCC Foundation
Ensure NJCAA, Title IX, and NIRA compliance
Maintain athletic documentation and communication tools
Community Relations – Drives and cultivates strategic community partnerships to enhance athletic program resources and visibility.
Work and collaborate closely with the LCCC Foundation and Booster Club to engage in appropriate fundraising efforts and enhance program support.
Cultivate community engagement initiatives that strengthen brand reputation and stakeholder trust.
Support Coaches in their leadership of successful camps and clinics for community youth, boosting engagement and recruitment, while generating additional revenue.
Foster measurable sponsor and community partner engagement by initiating and maintaining meaningful interactions on game days, resulting in strengthened relationships and increased partnership value.
Coach Development- Ensure coaches are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and support to deliver high-performing student athletes by leading the strategic design and execution of programs that elevate coaching quality.
Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching development framework that results in measurable improvements in coach performance evaluations.
Support coaches in applying evidence-based methodologies that lead to quantifiable gains in athlete performance metrics and competitive results.
Foster a coaching environment that promotes holistic athlete development, contributing to improvements in athlete academic performance, retention, and mental well-being indicators.
Other duties may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, physical education, sports management, or related field.
Three or more years of athletic administrative/management experience.
Three or more years of supervisory experience.
Valid Driver’s License and the ability to be insured by the College’s insurance provider
One-year of program fund raising experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, physical education, sports management, or related field.
Three or more years of collegiate level coaching experience, preferably at the community college level.
One-year knowledge and experience working with institutional student conduct and Title IX processes.
