Job Description:
This product leadership role is responsible for the captive financing line of business, a critical component of Financial Services and Pitney Bowes. As a Director of Captive Leasing, you will be a strategic leader of the team responsible for delivering the financial outcomes associated with a $800MM global leasing portfolio guiding the organization to maximize earnings and cashflow while improving the company’s balance sheet responsible for the overall operational and financial performance of the Captive Leasing line of business. You will develop and drive all aspects of the strategic plan to grow the Captive Financing solutions associated with the mailing and shipping business while delivering outstanding financial results.
You will use your extensive knowledge of equipment finance and lease accounting to design financial programs and offers that are easily adopted by various Sales channels and provide innovative and effective financing solutions to clients. You will ensure implementation of effective portfolio management strategies and continue to provide strong financial leadership and sales support across all channels.
Responsibilities:
Partner with PB Bank to maximize the Bank funding of captive financing transactions
Oversee transactional structuring ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
Lead pricing and ensure product / portfolio profitability
Partner with accounting to manage residual value exposure and treatment to improve current and future financial outcomes
Own controllership for the product portfolio ensuring that product processes, policies, and KPIs are met.
Manage cost productivity, identifying operational efficiencies to improve operating expense and maximize pre-tax earnings.
Drive the financial outcomes setting and executing strategies related to new business volume, mix of business, lease penetration (LSR), client retention (LCR), coupon/yield, asset levels (NEA/NFR), write-offs and delinquency.
Responsible for the go to market strategy for captive financing products, maximize profitability margins and client retention/conversion rates.
Develop and leverage targeted leasing programs to increase the sales pipeline, win new customers, convert the existing lease base and maximize financing opportunities.
Drive asset growth through alignment with Sending Technology business.
Own exception lease pricing and structured transaction pricing and approvals to win profitable business.
Mitigate risk and address issues resulting in negative financial performance.
Develop/approve modifications and updates to all lease contract language associated with all Bids and RFPs.
Direct and oversee all the system related activities to develop and implement pricing programs and accurately maintain the integrity of all the leasing rate structures/tables.
Work cross functionally to continually maintain the accuracy of the booked portfolio to improve customer satisfaction and ensure the timely and precise invoicing of all finance contracts.
Design/improve functions and operational processes with clearly established governance and controls.
Establish policies and procedures that ensure compliance with required regulations. Ensure all processes and procedures meet SOX, compliance and other industry best practice standards.
Ensure all processes are strategically developed to drive business financial outcomes consistent with small business lending benchmarks.
Challenge status quo and drive reporting automation, innovation, and operational improvement, simplification, and optimization.
Establish performance expectations and accountability across Captive Leasing organization to ensure outcome is aligned with overall Financial Services strategy.
Communicate projects, progress and results via presentations to Senior Management.
Team Leadership:
Actively lead the Captive Leasing team, building and developing a strong organization. Design and implement a talent management strategy to deepen capacity, operational skill set, and succession capability.
Maintain and nurture a culture accountable to strong operational and risk management.
Collaborate with senior leaders in stakeholder business groups to foster positive working relationships and synthesize regional requirements and priorities.
Partner with COO to establish, build, implement, and drive strategies to enhance financial outcomes, drive growth, and deliver value.
Qualifications:
7+ years of leasing and finance experience and leadership with in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the equipment leasing and finance business.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Marketing. MBA a plus.
Proven success in building and leading high-performing teams
Strong problem-solving skills that translate to effective recommendations aligned to the broader business growth strategy and continued profitability
Solid understanding of Lease Accounting principles.
Strong business and financial acumen to maximize P&L performance within a financial organization while minimizing portfolio losses.
Highly articulate with the ability to lead and influence across levels and functions. Executive presence with higher levels and outside entities.
Critical thinking with a proven ability to work through complex problems.
Strategic and forward-thinking mindset with the analytical capability to turn data into industry-based insights and strategy.
Operates with highest level of personal and professional integrity.
