Position Summary
The role of the ID Card Services Administrator is to build and support the processes, technology, and policies necessary to create and distribute PSU ID cards to students, faculty, staff, tenants, vendors, visitors, and contractors.
This position will work closely with the Campus Public Safety Office (CPSO) which oversees building access control, as well as campus consumers like dining, housing, and the Library who use PSU IDs for identification, building access, checkout, and other related functions. Close internal partners within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) include the Help Desk for printing and distribution, the Infrastructure and Cloud Applications Team for administering the access control systems and integrations, and the Identity and Access Management team responsible for PSU computer accounts and digital identities.
The primary job duties are:
Coordinate ID Card systems and processes (30%) – Develop, implement, and conduct processes necessary for accurate, and efficient creation and distribution of university ID cards.
Conduct campus needs analysis and product evaluations (25%) – Work with software, hardware, and service providers to ensure integrated and cost-effective solutions for ID card creation, photo management, and distribution based on evolving campus needs requirements.
Deliver training and support (20%) – Develop and conduct training for support personnel on the ID card creation, replacement, and printing processes for in-person delivery of ID cards.
Collaborate with ID card partners (10%) – Coordinate with the technical, security, and customer teams related to ID card service to enhance and improve the overall experience for customers while maintaining high levels of security and accountability.
Maintain equipment and supplies (10%)- Configure, deploy and maintain onsite ID printing, associated software and hardware, and supplies using a combination of direct maintenance and vendor/contracted services.
Other duties as assigned (5%) – Includes infrequent tasks related to the delivery of ID card services or voluntary departmental activities most frequently related to team and culture-building activities.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
The starting annual salary rate for this position is between $58,512 and $80,000. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however, it is dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from human resources.

Minimum Qualifications
This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills of technology and information systems generally obtained through an AA degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified course work in applicable fields of study and at least one year of related work experience.
Additional Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of access control or identity and authentication systems.
Foundational experience troubleshooting networking, devices, and applications.
Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with, collaborating, and supporting people from a diverse range of perspectives and backgrounds.
Ability to develop solutions and procedures to improve operations.
Experience documenting policies and procedures.
Experience developing and conducting training.
Experience or certification in project management tools/techniques.
Experience managing a supply budget, reorder processes, and basic accounting and financial tracking procedures.
Experience working with databases and/or electronic records management such as ERPs, HRIS, databases, student information systems, and/or access control systems.
Experience designing, implementing, and integrating software/hardware solutions.
Experience supporting the implementation and maintenance of security technologies (cameras, ID cards, access control systems, digital keys, etc.).
Responsible for support of ID card technologies including software, scanner/readers, and printing systems.
Experience configuring, supporting, and maintaining printers.
Training or certification specific to access control, card reader, security camera, or related technologies.
