We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for an Account Manager Group Membership on our Membership and Marketing Experience team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.
As an Account Manager Group Membership you will work with AMA’s group partners to drive additional value and ensure membership benefits are utilized. Create and implement strategic account plans that support membership retention and growth. Utilize customer interactions to provide insights that lead to enhancements or new additions to group value proposition. Build dependency through exceeding customer service needs and development of creative solutions to meet customer challenges. Establish credibility to marshal internal resources with an aptitude to collaborate with appropriate AMA partners when necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage account relationships
Build and nurture relationships with current, new and prospective group partners by establishing or communication with leadership contacts responsible for each group membership benefit
Gain access to C-Suite and Executive Leadership to monitor customer satisfaction and communicate updates on benefit fulfillment, new resources, and invitations to added value programs or events
Create and foster AMA relationships within each business section to successfully deliver and execute benefit fulfillment; facilitate delivery of AMA-wide offerings based on needs of groups and members
Grow & maintain membership levels at all accounts; inform Account Executives of any retention risks
Support business development by identifying potential new clients and new offerings
Provide competitive insights and new and enhanced product ideas captured during customer account interactions, exhibits, and conferences
As the voice of the target audience, assist in identifying existing and emergent needs to maximize future acquisition opportunities and customer satisfaction
Cultivate contacts from exhibits and networking opportunities at meetings/conferences/events
Contribute to roster expansion through discovering opportunities via insights from C-Suite leadership and their employed physicians; coordinate with Account Executives to develop opportunities at new accounts
Assist in creating/identifying AMA resources to grow membership within each assigned account
Program Administration
Ensure strategic account plans, reports, and Salesforce activities are executed and updated accurately
Work with management to support continual improvement of account management processes
Provide support to membership processing including contracting and physician rosters
May include other responsibilities as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or business required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MS, etc.) preferred
Experience working with C-Suite contacts at medical groups, academic physician leaders and established knowledge of issues and concerns within the health system and large medical group environmental landscape highly preferred
Medical – physician advocacy experience preferred
7+ years of sales and account management experience required
In-depth understanding of all physician group practice setting environments required; established industry contacts within health systems and large group practices preferred
Excellent communication, presentation, and critical thinking skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to senior executives, preferred; digital publishing/marketing skills preferred
Ability to interface effectively with people of varying disciplines, backgrounds, and expertise, including senior-level management. Strong relationship and results driven skills required
Must be self-motivated and able to effectively manage time to achieve individual and organizational goals
Ability to identify issues, recommend resolutions, and escalate appropriately for management attention
Proficiency in MS Office and Salesforce CRM required
Travel required up to 50%
