The Catholic University of America is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Coach for Men's and Women's Tennis. Catholic University is located in Washington, D.C., and competes in the Landmark Conference. The successful candidate will coach the men's and women's tennis programs within the philosophy and guidelines set forth by Catholic University, the NCAA, and the Landmark Conference.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Perform as a professional educator and role model to enable individual students to develop as student-athletes and to work together as a successful, competitive intercollegiate team.
Provide practice and match planning, implementation and assessment including but not limited to management of schedules, athletic participation and support services, facilities, marketing, and promotion in close collaboration with other colleagues and service providers.
Lead the recruitment of student-athletes who demonstrate the potential to be successful academically and by competing in the tennis program.
Mentor and monitor the academic success of the student-athletes.
Provide sound business and financial management in areas including but not limited to expenses, operating budgets, procurement of goods, services and equipment while also organizing and supervising all team related travel.
Ensure compliance with national, local, university, NCAA, Landmark Conference, regulations, standards and codes.
Recruit, supervise, train and evaluate assistant coaching staff.
Provide support for large departmental events (i.e., Senior Athlete Celebration) while also consistently connecting with program and institutional alums to maintain sound relationships between all parties.
Assist with facility supervision as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree is required.
Must have proven success coaching at the collegiate and/or club level.
Experience coaching both genders (particularly of college age) is preferred.
USPTA and/or PTR accreditation is preferred.
Proficiency in computer software applications: Word, Excel, Office, etc.
Knowledge of Front Rush (or similar) recruiting database tools.
Reasonable knowledge of various social media platforms in order to help promote the tennis program and communicate with a wide variety of constituents.
