POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Special Events will lead the organization in the implementation of special events for all aspects of the Wolfpack Club including Annual Giving, Major Gifts and Clubs.  This position will oversee the day-to-day functions of the Jr. Wolfpack Club, Student Wolfpack Club and Young Alumni Program.  This role will help identify and cultivate donors for the Wolfpack Club through engagement and stewardship. 

RESPSONSIBILITIES

·         Coordinate and manage the Wolfpack Club’s Events Calendar and planning processes

o    Coaches Caravans, Pack Rallies and other statewide events as needed

o    Post season conference and NCAA travel and events

o    Away donor functions for various sporting events (WBB, MBB, FB, BB)

o    Major Gift Donor Functions including those of the IMPACK Program and Foundation of Champions

o    Premium Seat functions as needed for Women’s & Men’s Basketball, Baseball & Football

o    Golf outings, socials and game viewing parties

o    Signature event – Pride of the Pack

·         Develop and oversee IMPACK program recognition

·         Collaboration with Marketing & Communications team to ensure print design, digital invitations and social media strategies are in alignment with NC State Athletics

·         Assigned a small contact list of donors in collaboration with Annual Giving Team

o    Note writing

o    Stewardship

o    Periodic communication to donors

·         Work closely with NC Athletics to assist with marketing and promotions of student-athletes, programs, and donor experiences

·         Update University Events Calendar with Wolfpack Club Events

·         Oversee all aspects of the Student Wolfpack Club and Student Wolfpack Club Board of Directors

·         Oversee engagement opportunities of the Young Alumni Program

·         Other duties as needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

·         In-depth knowledge and understanding of event planning, promotion and management of budgets.

·         Strong interpersonal skills which promote collaboration and productivity

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills which effectively convey and receive messages in person as well as via phone, email, and social media

·         Must be able to establish and maintain relationships with external and internal audiences

·         Ability to meet tight deadlines and respond appropriately to time-sensitive issues. Must be able to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload

·         Knowledge of NC State Athletics, college athletics and fan behavior

·         Solid understanding of web and social media metrics, ability to generate, analyze and interpret data

·         Ability and willingness to learn new technologies as needed to create a better donor experience at events.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

·        Graduation from a four-year college or university and at least 2 years of relevant marketing/ event coordination experience in a professional setting.

·        Strong project management and organizational skills.

·        Experience with higher education content and/or philanthropic giving a plus

·        2+ years of experience producing and managing events or similar organizational experience.

·        Knowledge of NC State University, NC State Athletics and other local constituents a plus

·        Ability to work outside and other settings outside of an office setting
