Directs, manages and implements programs to ensure efficient operations of the Revenue Cycle program in order to provide patient access services while generating sufficient revenue and cash flow to support operations and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include managing, formulating new programs, identifying areas of opportunity for program improvement, benchmarking against industry best practice models, reducing duplication of effort while increasing efficiency and resolving any scheduling, registration, and financial clearance concerns.
Directs enterprise-wide access revenue cycle functions for the multiple entities to include, but not limited to call center management including both inbound and outbound operations, patient access and registration, admissions, central registration, Emergency Department patient flow and registration, point-of-service programs, financial counseling, frontend customer service, pre-financial clearance, cost estimation, cashiering, template management, workforce management, call center analytics, patient experience initiatives, access related mobile applications and various revenue related issues.
Provides strategic direction to these functions and how the functions in question inter-relate to the other revenue cycle functions.
Communicates the departmental activities to revenue cycle senior management as it relates to system-wide access metrics, point of service cash collections, departmental performance, denial management (non-authorized services), staff turnover, variance to workforce management results, incentive performance, and customer service results.
Ensures coordinated activities with respect to all patient access and revenue cycle needs.
Develops, implements and direct various quality and patient experience initiatives to ensure continuous monitoring and improvements within the revenue cycle process.
Facilitates various technological initiatives in support of business process improvements.
Assists with the establishment of a training program and various educational forums.
