Responsible for providing efficient and timely claims management for property insurance claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution. Position is the point of contact for our operations leaders and third-party ownership groups as it relates to their property insurance claims. This position works closely with clients, operations and property leaders, insurance adjusters and legal counsel to assess damages to determine the scope of work needed and handling the coordination of repairs. Responsible for obtaining knowledge and providing assistance in all lines of insurance related to property risks. Exhibits strong commitment to the service needs of the internal and external customer. Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner.
Essential Job Functions:
Serves as the primary point of contact for managing, tracking and reporting claims until resolution for our third-party managed properties.
Investigates claims with internal stakeholders and designated insurance adjuster, contractors, and others as needed.
Responsible for timely and immediate travel, response to claims emergencies and on-call responsibilities as required to manage such property claims.
Works closely with third party adjuster, insurance broker and internal counsel on coverage decisions and determination of scope of work to be performed.
Assists with process for determining and coordinating third-party vendors and specialized services.
Reviews and verifies that third-party vendor estimates are accurate and comprehensive for the scope of work to be performed and ensure timely submission to applicable insurance adjuster(s).
Performs a timely review and processing of all related claims billing, including invoice sourcing and tracking to ensure timely payment from the respective insurance carrier and distribution to the impacted property
Maintains a thorough understanding of policy coverages, language, principles, current regulations and practices.
Assists with identifying and implementing best practices, policies and procedures for claims management.
Participates in the policy renewal and selection of vendor processes.

Bachelor s degree in related area or field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 5 years experience in property or construction claims or related work experience
Intermediate computer technology skills emphasis on familiarity with Excel or other data processing spreadsheets
The ability and means to travel up to 20%
Familiarity with other lines of insurance claims and coverage to include: general liability, auto, and worker s compensation
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of work scopes, ROMs, property damage estimates, building/structural systems, insurance theory and practices
Strong organizational and analytical abilities
Previous success in establishing and maintaining vendor relationships
Effective oral and written communication skills
Mathematical ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical and statistical data
Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a collaborative environment
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Multi-family property insurance experience preferred; general commercial property experience also considered
Current or Prior State Insurance Adjusters License
Experience identifying and implementing best practices, policies and procedures for claims management as it relates to all property insurance claims
Familiar with third-party contracts and supporting documents
A valid driver s license may be required
Work Schedule:8am-5pm, Monday-Friday or as needed to meet business needs to include working irregular hours for emergencies and on-call as needed.
