Metropolitan State University, Minnesota’s public, urban university, and recipient of the 2019 Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award is seeking to hire a Lead Project Manager. This is a full-time position within the Information Technology Services/Institutional Effectiveness and Research division.

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with some evening and weekend hours required based upon need
This position exists to provide university-wide expertise and leadership in IT project portfolio management, project management and business/process analysis for technology-related projects as part of the Information Technology Services/Institutional Effectiveness and Research division at Metropolitan State University.
Projects and initiatives under the purview of this position may range from medium department-specific to complex university-wide efforts. These projects and initiatives will often require integration or interface with other university systems or Minnesota State systems. They will require an understanding of university and Minnesota State business practices, organizational culture, and an awareness of new technologies. This position will have responsibility for leading university colleagues in establishing project scope, requirements, plan, timeline and communication, as well as providing leadership in managing stakeholder expectations, risks, fiscal responsibility, and timely project completion. Business and process analysis skills and experience are a critical element to success in this role.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to business, management, or computer science.
Minimum of 5 years of IT project management leadership experience that includes:
Project management leadership role in at least one major enterprise-level project/implementation.
Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously.
Minimum of 3 years of directly supervising or providing daily work direction to project management team members.
Experience configuring and using project and portfolio management software for project intake, project planning, management of resource capacity, and project and portfolio progress reporting.
Business analysis - minimum of 3 years of experience.
Experience working within an ITIL based, IT service management framework.
Communication skills sufficient to: (1) present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and/or university leadership. (2) write materials such as campus communications, training materials, policies, procedures, and presentations, (3) lead and mentor IT and project management team colleagues.
Highly motivated and outgoing personality with experience creating and supporting an environment conducive to facilitation of outcomes, building relationships, collaborative decision-making, consensus-building, and successful completion of projects.
Project management and/or business analyst certifications achieved or in process of achieving (PRINCE2, CAPM, PMP, Project+, ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, PMI-PBA).
Experience and/or certification a recognized process improvement methodology (Six Sigma, Lean, TQM…).
Experience working in a higher education environment.
Physical Requirements of the Job: This position requires occasionally transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and/or transporting light objects frequently. The position may require movement throughout building(s) to a significant degree.

Salary Range: $31.53 - $52.01/per hour depending upon qualifications
