About the Position:
The Director of Marketing is responsible for all aspects relative to the marketing and game day experience for fans. Primary responsibilities include generating ticket sales for basketball and other revenue generating sports through season, single, and group tickets marketing campaign strategies; executing game-day marketing and production; promotional activities; and improving and evolving the game day experience at appropriate events.
Handle execution of game day marketing including on-court activities;
Focus on specific atmosphere elements including improving and managing game day experience via improved exterior audio & visual, concourse activities, half time entertainment, spirit coordination, music, contests, pre-game entertainment, and overall presentation; and
Manage marketing game day operations at home athletic events, including scripts and video board presentations for men’s basketball and women’s basketball using the Daktronics Show Control interface.
Page administrator on social media pages providing live content across the platforms.
Instruct cheer and dance squads in rules & regulations;
Collaborate with cheer and dance coaching staff to determine game day strategy;
Coordinate mascot appearances; and
Coordinate travel plans.
Formalize a student marketing street team; and
Execute all promotional elements of the Game of the Week.
Manage grassroots promotions for all sports with a focus on basketball;
Lead outreach opportunities at campus and community events; and
Drive strategies to increase attendance, ticket sales and revenue at home athletic events and help create a fun and exciting game day environment for fans.
Coordinate and schedule on-campus tabling/kiosks; and
Handle all purchasing for marketing activities including giveaways and signage.
Coordinate internal marketing efforts on website.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sports management, business or related field or work experience that equates to an advanced degree;
Demonstrated experience in marketing and creating an engaging game day experience;
Demonstrated ability to work on projects independently as well as within a team;
Ability to prioritize multiple projects;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Demonstrated organizational skills;
High level of attention to detail;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; and
Ability to work flexible hours – evenings and weekends.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite; and
Experience with Daktronics.
