Stone Ridge is seeking an Associate Director of Development to begin as soon as possible.
Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten in Bethesda, Maryland. This is an exciting and monumental time in Stone Ridge’s history, as the School is preparing to celebrate its Centennial in 2022-2023. Furthermore, the School is currently completing its $26M comprehensive capital campaign, Cor Unum One Heart, and opening the resulting building projects.
Reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement, the Associate Director of Development will be an integral member of the Development team with responsibility for the vision, goals, management, and results of Hic Et Nunc, the Planned Giving program. Working closely with members of the Development team, Head of School, and key stakeholders, the Associate Director of Development will also be responsible for strategically planning and implementing the Centennial celebration during the 2022-2023 school year. Please see below for a complete list of responsibilities for the position. This position requires superb organization and interpersonal skills with experience in prospect management. The Associate Director will be a self-starter who will be thoughtful and creative in addressing different constituents and skilled at building relationships, strategic consensus, and effective communication. Candidates should have at least five years of development expertise, including significant and successful planned gift and major gift fundraising with a proven track record of high-level solicitations. Finally, the Associate Director will have experience in special event planning and management. This is an annual position. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Planned and Major Gift Responsibilities: --Re-establish Stone Ridge’s Planned Giving program, Hic Et Nunc (Here and Now), by developing and implementing a comprehensive planned giving program that engages current and prospective donors on the importance and advantages of long term philanthropic planning. --Manage a portfolio of 125-150 major and/or planned gift prospects, which may include current parents, alumnae, parents of alumnae, and grandparents. Responsible for 50-75 visits and 100-120 moves annually. --Oversee prospect research of potential prospects and continue to enhance the rating and tracking system for major and planned gift prospects. --Collaborate with development colleagues, business office, financial estate planners, and attorneys to ensure accurate gift documentation and reporting to align with the needs of the School and the donor. --In partnership with the Director of Institutional Advancement, manage strategic communications for planned and major gift prospects including, but not limited to, proposals, talking points, contact reports, cultivation correspondence, and stewardship materials such as Donor Impact Reports. --In collaboration with the Communications and Marketing Team, develop a clear and compelling web presence for major and planned gifts. --Travel (locally and nationally) to meet with donors and prospects.
Centennial Celebration Responsibilities: --Work collaboratively with all members of the Development Team, Head of School’s Office, and key stakeholders to effectively plan and execute the Centennial Celebration during the 2022-2023 school year. --Develop creative ideas to engage and steward all members of the community through events, programs and communications to mark this special occasion. --In collaboration with the Director of Special Events, manage all aspects of the events associated with the Centennial Celebration. --In partnership with the Communications and Marketing Team, craft language and collect visuals to create a web strategy to celebrate the Centennial.
Additional Responsibilities: Fully participate in the life of the School by attending events and programs to cultivate relationships with members of the Stone Ridge community. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Institutional Advancement.
Qualifications: (Skills, experience, education/certification, etc.) --Bachelor's degree --Minimum 5+ years of development/advancement experience and planned/ major gift work --Proven ability to plan, execute and manage special events. --Deep knowledge of, and experience with, planned giving strategies and vehicles --Must have a sense of humor, exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, and the ability to be effective engaging both internal and external community members. --Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. --Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results. --Computer fluency (Raisers Edge, Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint)
