The Leadership Development Office (LDO) for MBA Programs oversees a portfolio of in person and virtual developmental programs at the Booth School of Business. This includes an experiential class (LEAD) required of all MBA students. Other program offerings for the LDO include experiential workshops, managing several student leadership roles, a Leadership Practicum class, and coaching—all for full-time, evening, and weekend MBA students.
The Associate Director is mainly responsible for implementation of LDO programs and events including marketing the events, managing participation, and tracking engagement. Additionally this role will partner with program managers to identify programmatic needs and provide support when needed. This person will work with vendors, manage programmatic budgets, and support the team’s communication efforts.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and manage LDO events with the design, plans, and executing major events (e.g., an off-site retreat, conferences, experiential classes etc.).
Assume responsibility for major aspects of LDO events (coordinating vendors, marketing the event, managing registration, and tracking student engagement).
Partner with LDO colleagues to create, plan and execute aspects of other LDO programmatic offerings such as the Leadership in Practice series, Diversity & Inclusion sessions, Booth Women Advance, & the Advanced Leadership Series.
Manage the operations and planning of communications for LDO events, including a quarterly newsletter, targeted communications, event communications, and maintaining our internal intranet pages.
Negotiate and manage contracts with multiple external vendors.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required.
A minimum of five years of experience managing larger-scaled projects and events required.
Experience with budget management is preferred.
Proven ability to thrive in and contribute to a dynamic team environment required.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; organizational skills required.
Ability to work independently and self-motivated required.
Excellent project management skills with attention to both detail and timeliness required.
Ability to work on projects simultaneously, meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions required.
