The Operations Coordinator will provide dedicated operations support to the Academic Affairs team. This position will work in collaboration with the Operations Manager to develop, implement, and maintain operational standards within each of the areas that comprise the Academic Affairs related functions at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine ("GCSOM").The position is required to conduct business in a professional and cordial manner that will uphold the integrity and reputation of the GCSOM. In addition, this position maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to the policies, regulations and procedures of the GCSOM.
Accountable for management, leadership and management of assigned operational tasks.
Participates in the development and implementation of strategic, tactical, operational and business plans as assigned.
Provides secondary support in the development of business plans.
Provides support for staff as needed and requested.
Troubleshoots and responds to work flow issues.
Assists in facilitating active engagement and communication with department staff via formal meetings and informal interactions.
Assists in handling employee relations activities as requested.
Assists in the tracking and maintenance of appropriate staffing levels.
Monitors ongoing compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
Establishes and updates new/existing procedure manuals.
Maintains continuing and consistent Performance Improvement programs for the various departments within Academic Affairs.
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. *Relevant experience may be a combination of related work experience and degree obtained (Associate's Degree = 2 years; Bachelor's Degree = 4 years).
Bachelor's degree preferred. Work-related experience in an accounting, financial and/or business-related operational role is required.
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required), Bachelor's Degree- (Preferred)
Minimum of 5 years-Relevant experience* (Required)
