The company utilizes a direct sales model to offer handbags, accessories, and home organization products through independent consultants. Thirty One’s tens of thousands of consultants sell products through an omnichannel model with a growing focus on digital. Cindy Monroe started the business in the basement of her home, and over the last 17 years, Thirty-One has grown from a small business to having a strong presence across North America.
Thirty-One Gifts has experienced a variety of successes and challenges over the years, and the company has the opportunity to return to strong growth and redefine the future of social commerce shopping and sharing. In 2020, Kanbrick, a long-term investment partnership founded by Tracy Britt Cool and Brian Humphrey, invested in Thirty-One Gifts to partner with founder, Cindy Monroe, on transforming the business. Tracy and Brian partnered as CEO and CFO for the successful reinvention and transformation of a leading direct sales business from 2015-2020. Tracy previously worked at Berkshire Hathaway and served as Financial Assistant to the Chairman.
Since Kanbrick’s investment, Utah based, industry veteran Elizabeth Thibaudeau has been serving as Acting CEO where she has focused on strengthening Thirty-One’s foundation. Elizabeth is also engaged in helping find a long-term CEO and will remain involved in the business as a board member. The company is in the midst of an exciting transformation and reinvention, and this role is a compelling opportunity to shape the future direction of Thirty-One Gifts, lead a purpose driven organization with a rich history, and join the broader Kanbrick Community.
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for developing the long-term vision and strategy for Thirty-One Gifts, while also delivering on the day-to-day operations of the company. She/he exhibits strong executive presence and maturity with sound judgment and effective decision-making skills and leads with high-energy and a positive mindset. She/he possesses a demonstrated track record operating as a proactive builder with the ability to develop great teams, build a winning culture, and effectively drive change.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of building a clear strategic plan, delivering financial and strategic goals, and creating a culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement. She/he will maintain high emotional intelligence, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build trust and followership with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
The ideal candidate will be a CEO who has delivered strong results in a transformation atmosphere or a proven C-level executive who is ready to take on an exciting and challenging CEO role.
Successful track record leading business transformation(s) resulting in long-term value creation through creating a winning strategy, culture, and team.
Experience driving sustained growth in direct selling, multi-level-marketing or other businesses managing independent distributors or contractors. Deep understanding and respect of direct selling model is preferred.
Ability to help lead and drive digital innovation and growth, while utilizing the field organization. Experience in product development and branding is helpful as well.
Experience delivering results in metrics driven environment with P&L ownership and strong financial acumen preferred.
Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain a strong leadership team through effective leadership, mentoring and motivational skills.
Track record building winning culture(s) that attract, develop, and engage employees across the organization.
Possesses executive presence and the highest levels of personal and professional ethics and integrity.
Team player who displays high emotional intelligence and can enter an organization, connect and motivate key stakeholders (e.g., employees, consultants), and build a strong cohesive organization.

In partnership with Kanbrick, Board and Executive Team, develop and define Thirty-One’s short-term and long-term strategy to deliver for consultants, customers, employees, and ownership.

Supports a strong focus on the field organization to deliver meaningful results.
Deliver compelling product strategy and product launches, enhance brand and product quality, and enter new categories
Drives the company’s digital transformation and helps define the future of social commerce by empowering a digital-focused field organization that is well aligned to consumer preferences.
Ensures profitable growth and promotes operational efficiencies, closely managing the company’s plans and budgets.
Builds Thirty-One’s culture, team, and organizational design to support the company’s strategic objectives.
Maintains close partnership with Thirty-One’s owners and board of directors.
