This position works closely with internal University units and external entities to include but not limited to coaching staffs, student-athletes and vendors for goods & services. This position will assist in supervising the maintenance, function and improvement of Xavier’s athletic facilities. This will include maintaining all buildings and fields with the assistance of Xavier University’s Physical Plant team, and coordinating the repair and replacement of equipment and enhancing facilities where appropriate. This position is the primary contact and is ultimately responsible for the planning and execution of games and events. (Examples include all Athletic games as well as a wide array of events that may include but are not limited to graduations, concerts, conferences, high school basketball tournaments etc.).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manages athletic facilities to include but not limited to: schedule of use, security, and oversight of building systems and performance. Engages and manages relationships with service providers to ensure proper custodial and maintenance for Athletics’ facilities in an effort to resolve any operational issues. •Lead responsibility for day-to-day facility operations. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and managing three hourly operation specialists. •Serves as primary event manager during home Athletic contests or other arena events as well as events within the Schiff Conference Center. •Manages event set-up for all Athletics’ facilities and spaces including banquet and conference-level activity. Supervise and assist with set-up and tear down of physical facilities including but not limited to the setup of tables, chairs, stages, platforms, etc. •The position supervises third party staff responsible for the game day operations of Athletics’ events including Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer and Baseball. Assign, manage and supervise event-related contract employees to include ushers, ticket takers, peer security, parking attendants, police, fire marshals and medical critical care staffs. Assign such personnel in a way to ensure successful and safe events while managing labor budget. •Develops and executes event management plans for all events. •Develop, evaluate, and manage policies and procedures related to the operation of athletic facilities. •Serve as the Game and Event Manager for a variety of events held in athletic venues. •Develop athletic facilities integrated maintenance plan in coordination with Physical Plant to address daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly facilities infrastructure and systems repair, replace, and maintenance needs.
