About City of Rochester, New York
The City of Rochester is a municipal government of roughly 2,700 employees serving the over 200,000 residents of Rochester, New York. A broad array of services are provided that impact the conduct of business and the quality of life in the City. In addition to the readily recognized positions of Public Safety providers (Police, Fire, & 911) and Environmental Services (water supply & distribution, street lightning, refuse removal, etc.) we utilize the services of architects, engineers, mechanics, lawyers, librarians, and recreation workers to enhance and enrich City living. We are working on our goal to be the best mid- sized city in America by focusing on the priorities of public safety, education, economic development, and customer service. We take pride in our work, pride in our City, and encourage you to join us by learning about the Civil Service process and employment opportunities at www.cityofrochester.gov.
