YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, a 21st Century, business-savvy, social enterprise committed to “Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women,” is seeking a BILINGUAL FOOD PROGRAM MONITOR for the YWCA Early Childhood Services - Tummy Program, located at our Parks Francis Center at 6600 S. Cottage Grove in Chicago, IL 60637. This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Provider Engagement Coordinator.
The YWCA Child and Adult Care Food Program is designed to provide aid to child care institutions and family day care homes for the provision of nutritious foods that contribute to the wellness, healthy growth and development of young children. The Bilingual Food Program Monitor assists the Provider Engagement Coordinator in monitoring and training program participants in the program requirements.
Travel within 50 mile radius to service Cook, DuPage, Kane and Will counties.
Completing trimester visits/training to participating providers as assigned.
Providing training and technical assistance to providers as necessary during trimester visits regarding accurate record keeping and programmatic elements.
Providing nutritional education to providers, as assigned.
Office duties as assigned.
Participating in staff meetings and trainings as required.
High school diploma; AA in related field preferred
Proficiency with use of technology, smartphones, computers, etc.
Intermediate level of skill with Microsoft Office, Outlook, internet usage and databases.
1-2 years experience in nutrition training or in early childhood related fields
Available to attend regularly scheduled meetings/trainings throughout Chicagoland
Available to work within a flexible schedule
Effective verbal and written communication skills; oral and written bilingual skills (Spanish/ English)
Own transportation and proof of auto insurance
Ability to travel within Chicagoland and suburban areas
Ability to work independently
