Under the direction of the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach, the Director of Operations, Women’s Lacrosse, will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of operations for the women’s lacrosse program. Responsible for managing the efficient operation of the women’s lacrosse office, including team travel; liaison with department support services; assisting in the management of all aspects of women’s lacrosse camps and clinics; and at the direction of women’s lacrosse coaching staff, assist with the coordination of recruit visits. Supervise student employees and managers. Responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectivity of the intercollegiate Athletic programs, including adherence to all departmental policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, the BIG EAST Conference and the NCAA. Manages all aspects of team travel, including arranging flights, hotel accommodations, developing itineraries and schedules, per diem, and making alternate arrangements when unexpected situations arise. Assists Head Coach with administrative responsibilities. Responsible for overseeing practice operations, including practice scheduling and manager coordination as well as coordination of all team activities and meals. Assist with the management of women’s lacrosse camps/clinics. Serves as liaison with department’s compliance, marketing, athletic communications, development, ticket office, and sports performance staff. Supervise, including hiring, training, performance management, evaluation, and mentoring of, administrative assistant, student workers/managers.
Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: 1. Manage women’s lacrosse office, reporting directly to the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach including sole responsibility for budget decisions. 2. Manage schedules (including travel) for all women’s lacrosse coaches. 3. Handle correspondence and minor business details for all women’s lacrosse coaches. 4. Handle team travel arrangements, including air travel, hotels, ground transportation, and meals in conjunction with department travel company representative. 5. Arrange and organize community service projects involving the women’s lacrosse team. 6. Arrange all travel for head coach for personal appearances, clinics, Alumni functions, University appearances. 7. Act as liaison with program supporters and Alumni, including all University booster clubs. 8. Work closely with athletic marketing staff to organize and implement game day operations. 9. Work in coordination with athletic facilities staff to reserve fields for practice times, camps and clinics. 10. Act as the liaison to parents of all women’s lacrosse student-athletes. 11. Handle all preparations for summer camp to include (but not limited to): develop and distribute brochure, record information from all registrants, distribute camp information to all attendees, secure staff to assist with camp, process payroll-related paperwork for camp staff to ensure payment, organize meals with University staff, organize housing arrangements with University staff, work with athletic business office to develop profit statement for camp. 12. May supervise all duties, assignments and operations of student workers (includes supervision, scheduling of hours, assignment of duties, preparation and approval of time sheets). 13. Possible liaison with Blue & Gold Fund. 14. May be responsible for maintenance of all compliance records within women’s lacrosse program including recruiting logs, phone logs, contact & evaluation reports, et al. 15. Occasionally work in coordination with Athletic Business office to process financial paperwork. 16. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. 8 years of experience with the sport of lacrosse. Attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills required.
