The Madeira School is one of the country's premier boarding/day college-prep high schools for girls with more than a century of launching women who change the world. Located just outside of Washington, DC, on the banks of the Potomac River, in McLean, VA, Madeira enrolls 325 students in grades 9-12.
The Madeira School is seeking a Gifts and Acknowledgements Coordinator to join its Development Office. The successful candidate will support the School through stewardship and recognition of donors.
Daily entering gifts (data entry requires analysis and decisive judgment at the time of entry)
Manages all aspects of the gift acknowledgement process, including thank you letters and pledge reminders, corporate matching gifts, online gifts, recurring gifts and payroll deductions
Resolves donor and gift issues, including updating expired credit cards for recurring gifts
Maintains and establishes policies & procedures for gift entry
Serves as a liaison between the business office and the development office
Works with donors to answer questions they may have about their gifts
Provides administrative support to the development office
Assists directors and gift officers with occasional special events, mailings, invitations, etc.
Updates Raisers' Edge donor records and assists with database clean up
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of 6-months experience with Blackbaud's Raisers' Edge required
1-3 years of office experience in related field required, development office setting preferred
Exceptional data management, analytical and problem-solving skills; accuracy and attention to detail in maintaining data integrity; gift entry experience preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with particular ability to prioritize work.
Proficiency in basic database systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel); willingness and ability to learn additional applications as needed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to be diplomatic; ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with appropriate discretion.
Willingness & ability to work occasional evenings & select weekends.
