The Economist will contribute to the economic analysis of the Australian and New Zealand economies, publishing research to assist Citi's Institutional Investor clients understand macroeconomic developments. This role will involve rigorous research involving macroeconomic modelling and analysis; monitoring data releases and communicating succinctly to clients in a dynamic market driven environment.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years' experience in macroeconomic analysis or policy role with a passion for financial markets.
Key accountabilities include:
Expeditiously originate and publish research reports and presentations in a clear and succinct manner
Drive weekly publications and contribute to the origination of proactive thematic research
Assisting internal sales and trading teams in the timely analysis of topical issues in the market
Compiling economic and financial data into robust models and databases
Collaborating with Equity Strategy, Quant and Fundamental teams to produce joint and multi-asset research
Responding to client requests
To be successful in this position you will have the following skills and experience:
Tertiary qualifications in economics
5-7 years of relevant experience in macro-economics research or policy role at a financial institution government authority.
High attention to detail in a fast paced environment
Highly motivated, organized and detail oriented
A passion for financial markets genuinely interested in a dynamic environment.
Highly numerate, inquisitive with a discerning personality
