The Office of International Education at Molloy College is currently seeking to fill the position of Director. The successful incumbent will be responsible for comprehensive organization and oversight of the International Education Office. This includes organizing international experiences, establishing affiliations and daily management of the business operations.
Management and Organization of International Opportunities a) Assist the academic leadership team and faculty with the integration of international programs in academic areas b) Provide the creative vision and direction in the design of international academic programs c) Establish partnerships and affiliations with institutions throughout the world d) Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs in the creation and maintenance of a Policies and Procedure Manual and Handbook for International Education e) Research international short and long term programs, developing curriculum with learning objectives that encourage students to be able to examine the world from more than one cultural viewpoint f) Collaborate with representatives from international colleges, universities, and organizations on opportunities for faculty and students g) Chair the International Education Advisory Board
Coordination of International Travel Activity a) Prepare and maintain a 3 year schedule of short-term international travel b) Organize and participate in pre-departure meetings for students and faculty c) Mitigate and manage the rick associated with all international travel d) Develop and maintain the crisis management plan for international travel in consultation and collaboration with the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs e) Analyze post trip assessment date to implement change
Provide Department Oversight a) Develop the annual budget b) Communicate department needs with the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs c) Supervises department personnel
Program Development a) Build a strategy to increase international student enrollment b) Create a strategy to attract international researchers c) Mentor faculty to participate in Office of International Education initiatives d) Develop and circulate marketing materials e) Organize academic seminars that prepares students for their international experiences
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree Required
5-8 years of related experience required. This individual should have had sufficient travel experience to understand the practical and legal ramifications of student travel. The successful candidate must have an understanding of the demands of international travel and experience in establishing international partnerships. They must have the ability to foresee complications and resolve conflicts. This individual is accountable for ensuring that the international travel program meets the learning outcomes established in the safest possible way.
Occasional Travel is required. This position requires national and international travel for periods of 3-4 weeks. As the leader of international travel for Molloy College, it is expected that the Director will travel with students. Additionally, this individual will travel to potential destinations to establish partnerships, be aware of local resources and opportunities.
Experience working and collaborating with colleagues, while simultaneously working with vendors, other institutions and students and their parents is required.
