The YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago, a 21st Century, business-savvy, social enterprise committed to “Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women,” is seeking a THERAPIST based at our location at320 W 202nd St, Chicago Heights, IL 60411. This exempt, full-time position reports to the Coordinator of the SEXUAL VIOLENCE SUPPORT SERVICES (SVSS) Clinical Program.
OVERALL PURPOSE: Providing crisis intervention, short-term or long-term therapy and group counseling for children, adolescents and adult victims of sexual assault/abuse and their non-offending significant others.
Provide individual and group short-term and longer-term sexual abuse/assault counseling/therapy
Facilitate group services and workshops for members
Deliver telephone and in-person crisis intervention, information, and referral as needed
Monitor member intake and caseload, conducting individual and group intake screening when appropriate
Willingness to engage in reflective supervision
Furnish advocacy referrals for members to legal, medical, & social services systems as needed
Perform data input and maintenance to ensure comprehensive, accurate recordkeeping to meet multiple funding sources requirements
Participate in clinical team meetings and in regular clinical supervision meetings
Establish and sustain community contacts to develop and advance the SVSS public presence and referral base
Master’s degree- MA, MSW, etc. from an accredited college or university (expressive programs welcome)
Spanish Fluency (oral and written) preferred not required
Minimum of one – three years of counseling experience
Previous experience in working with trauma populations, specifically sexually traumatized individuals
Familiarity with reflective supervision
40-hour certification in Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention training (or the ability to complete this initially upon hire)
Availability to work some evenings
Ability to work collaboratively or independently, depending on the situations
Sound decision-making skills in emergency situations
Highly effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills with client members and team members
Clinical license LCPC or LCSW preferred but not required
Basic skill level in MS Outlook, MS Office suite of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with experience
