The City of Dubuque, Iowa (population 58,000) invites applications for the position of Director of Transportation Services. The Director of Transportation Services is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance while collaborating with employees, advisory board members, members of the public, department managers and community organizations to conduct the long-term planning and management of the administrative functions, public facilities, vehicles and employees associated with the provision of transportation-related services, including transit and public parking, in the community including:

2 semi-public buildings including the Intermodal Facility and the Jule Operations and Training Center
The Director serves as the main point of contact for cross-departmental collaboration, community partnership development and process improvement including performance measurement and evaluation. The Director functions with wide latitude under the supervision of the City Manager. The Director must have a commitment to equitable access to jobs and community amenities through public transit and must be customer service oriented, openminded and creative. The ability to bring new ideas, generate new resources and revenues and introduce new and promote existing services is essential. The successful candidate will possess considerable management experience in the public or private sector that includes oversight of vehicles and facilities and supervision of employees; experience working with and supervising a diverse workforce; graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in transportation, planning, public administration, economics, business administration or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the essential knowledge, skills and abilities. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to follow a management style that is input oriented and values equity, problem solving and the development of partnerships and a desire to be part of an organization that values service, people, integrity, responsibility, innovation and teamwork. The City offers an annual salary range of $85,446 to $111,696, and an attractive benefit package.
