Our client is a Top Invesment Manager in NY Area. Our client's Risk Management team has direct responsibility for monitoring and managing market, credit, liquidity, model and funding risk exposures of firm-managed investments. The team performs a wide range of primary and macro driven research, including stress testing, scenario analysis, and hedging methodologies. The risk department works closely with the firm's many portfolio managers covering macro, equity, credit and derivatives markets in order to holistically manage the firm's risks.
Our client is looking for a highly motivated and hard-working individual to join our Counterparty Risk Management team. Primary duties will include assessing the creditworthiness of the firm's trading counterparties comprised of banks, broker-dealers, central clearing counterparties and other financial institutions. Successful candidates will develop a framework and tools for the evaluation of such counterparties, and monitor the firm's counterparty exposures.
Perform ongoing counterparty credit analysis on universe of banks and broker-dealers and analyze risk to central clearing counterparties and related exchanges
Assist in monitoring the ongoing creditworthiness of the counterparty base through daily credit quality and exposure tracking
Work closely with the firm's trading documentation and financing group to help negotiate and track credit terms in trading agreements
Assist with responsibilities of the department as needed, including day-to-day management of the firm's counterparty relationships, responding to client due diligence questions, and maintaining department databases
8 to 10 years of credit risk management experience with a focus on assessing the creditworthiness of financial institutions
Deep understanding of credit risk systems, credit risk measurement methodologies and credit scoring models
Familiarity with hedge fund investment strategies and the various financial products traded by hedge funds
Strong oral and written skills with the ability to comfortably and effectively interact with principals, clients, sell side credit officers, traders and attorneys
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL
