Oregon State University has an exciting opportunity in the admissions profession for someone who is ready for a leadership position and that next step in their career. The Assistant Director of Admissions for Recruitment (closing date 1/23) will be based on campus in Corvallis in the Office of Admissions and will serve as part of the recruitment team and be responsible for leading major programming efforts and supervising staff who are regionally based in different locations.
In a nutshell: The primary duties of the Assistant Director of Admissions include – Major Event Planning and Coordination of Recruitment Initiatives, the Development, Management, Coordination and Execution of Recruitment Plan, Counseling and Advising Prospective Students, Data Analysis and Reporting, Application Reading and Scoring, and Other Duties as Assigned. They will do all of this (and then some) while supervising and communicating with staff who are remotely based. The successful person should enjoy being part of a team, promote hard work and foster professional growth, encourage a positive outlook and focus on the bigger picture, and be an effective communicator and innovative strategist. A sense of humor, flexibility, a good energy, strong interpersonal and presentation skills, an understanding of the admissions profession (with a focus on non-resident recruitment and public school access), and a familiarity of the region’s schools and OSU’s mission all would be ideal. Salary range is $47,500-$50,000.
Among other minimum criteria, 3 years or more of professional work experience in undergraduate admissions at a regionally accredited 4-year not-for-profit college or university is required.
