The Auxiliary Services Corporation at the College of Staten Island provides administrative oversight over revenue-generating entrepreneurial activities at the college. The services include campus-wide service, vending services, Campus Bookstore, ATM services, parking registrations, parking enforcement, copier services, Campus One-Card, Dolphin Cove residential complex (managed by American Campus Communities), CSI Conference Center and other revenue generating operations on campus. Some services are outsourced to independent entities contracting with, and answerable to, the College of Staten Island Auxiliary Services Corporation Board of Directors.
The primary responsibility of the Director of Auxiliary Services is to oversee and direct current and future auxiliary services and facilities in order to serve the best interests of the students, faculty and staff of the College. This position will provide leadership, managerial and fiduciary oversight for the College's auxiliary services and facilities.
Reports to the VP for Finance & Administrative and the Board of Directors, the Director of Auxiliary Services is responsible for: - Working with management to create short- and long-term plans, including operation, organization, and financial. - Working with management and others to develop and implement operating policies and procedures. - Managing the ongoing financial, operational, and staffing activities of the unit. - Developing and managing the operating budget and performing analysis that support decision-making. - Overseeing legal, safety, fiscal, payroll and other compliance requirements. - Overseeing facility and technology utilized in the department, coordinating with appropriate campus offices. - Working with other Campus or University units to coordinate and plan fund-raising, grants, marketing, communications, and outreach activities. - Independently carries out a portfolio of responsibilities under the department's purview, such as managing committees, securing approvals, and providing communications. - Responsible to ensure all governmental, college and university responsibilities are met. - Explore new opportunities for the Corporation in support of the College Mission.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications include: Experience in a higher education or non-profit setting managing budgets/finance for multiple contracts, entities, and projects is highly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, proven marketing and budgeting experience, customer-oriented, and a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population are required. Experience with ADP and Microsoft Dynamics highly desirable. Accounting background preferred.
